Have we ever wondered what it feels like to stand atop the tallest building on Earth? The Burj Khalifa, often nicknamed the “Dubai Tower,” isn’t just a skyscraper — it’s a symbol of ambition, design brilliance, and the city’s rise from desert to global destination.
Towering at 828 meters, this architectural wonder offers more than just a view — it’s a full-on experience that blends thrill, elegance, and innovation.
A Tower That Reaches the Clouds
Designed by architect Adrian Smith, the Burj Khalifa opened in 2010 and quickly became one of the most visited landmarks in the world. Its sleek, tapering form is inspired by the Hymenocallis flower, and its triple-lobed footprint gives it both aesthetic grace and structural stability. With over 160 floors, the tower houses luxury residences, corporate suites, restaurants, and two incredible public observation decks.
Ticket Prices and Observation Levels
Visitors can choose between two main options for observation:
At the Top (Level 124 & 125)
- Non-peak hours: ~$45
- Prime sunset hours: ~$65
At the Top SKY (Level 148, plus access to 124 & 125)
- All hours: ~$115
- Includes fast-track entry, refreshments, and a more exclusive experience
Children under 4 enter free. Tickets are available via the official Burj Khalifa website, and booking in advance is highly advised — especially for sunset slots.
Opening Hours
- Daily: 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM
- Last entry: 11:00 PM
- Best times to visit: For sunrise serenity, arrive early. For golden skyline shots, go just before sunset (4:00–6:30 PM). For night lovers, late evening offers dramatic city lights and fewer crowds.
How to Get There
The Burj Khalifa is located in Downtown Dubai, directly connected to Dubai Mall:
- By Metro: Take the Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Station, then follow the signs through an air-conditioned pedestrian walkway (about 15 minutes).
- By Taxi or Uber: Just ask for “Dubai Mall main entrance.”
- By Car: Park at Dubai Mall (Fashion Avenue parking is closest).
Observation deck access is through the LG level of Dubai Mall.
What Awaits at the Top
- Level 124 & 125: Panoramic indoor views, high-powered telescopes, and a chance to walk along outdoor terraces. Great for photos and orientation of Dubai’s layout.
- Level 148: At 555 meters high, this level is more private and luxurious, with plush seating, welcome refreshments, and dedicated guest ambassadors to guide us.
We’ll ride one of the fastest elevators in the world — traveling at 10 meters per second — and feel our ears pop as we rise above the clouds.
Best Time to Visit and When to Skip the Crowds
Dubai can be extremely hot in summer, so we recommend visiting between November and March when the weather is mild. Early mornings or late evenings offer cooler temperatures and a more relaxed atmosphere.
To avoid long queues and large tour groups:
- Visit on weekdays, especially Tuesday to Thursday.
- Book online, and choose non-prime hours (10 AM – 2 PM or after 8 PM).
Tips for the Perfect Experience
1. Dress comfortably, but modestly. The observation decks are indoors and air-conditioned.
2. Bring a good camera or phone, as the views are worth capturing — especially the iconic “shadow of the tower” shot at sunset.
3. Check the weather before booking. A clear day makes all the difference.
4. Don’t rush out — take time to explore the Dubai Fountain, the Dubai Mall, and the Burj Park nearby after the visit.
A Journey Beyond Height
Visiting the Burj Khalifa isn’t just about standing high — it’s about seeing Dubai from an entirely new perspective. Whether we’re marveling at the distant desert dunes, watching planes fly beneath us, or simply soaking in the endless skyline, this experience offers a unique mix of serenity and awe.
